Everest Mera Foundation is a registered charitable organisation in Nepal dedicated to improving the lives and future prospects of children, families, and communities in the Mahakulung region of Eastern Nepal, in the foothills of Everest.

We work alongside local communities to address practical challenges and create opportunities for a more secure, dignified, and sustainable future. Our approach is rooted in local needs, community participation, and the belief that lasting change begins when people have the opportunity, support, and confidence to build better lives.

We support vulnerable, disadvantaged, and orphaned children to remain in school and continue their education through scholarships, school uniforms, warm clothing, shoes, books, stationery, learning materials, and support for essential school facilities.

Alongside education, we work to promote environmental protection, health, hygiene, safety, and community well-being in Mahakulung. We raise awareness of climate change, sanitation, safe water, mountain safety, workers’ rights, and responsible use of natural resources, working with communities and partners to build healthier, safer, and more sustainable Himalayan communities.

Our Strategy

We work with children, families, and communities in the remote mountain areas of Nepal, particularly in the Everest region and Mahakulung. By working closely with local schools, communities, local governments, volunteers, and partners, we identify local needs and develop practical solutions. Our programs focus on education, environmental awareness, health and sanitation, disaster preparedness, community resilience, and wellbeing of mountain communities. We look beyond short-term support, aiming to help children learn, families become more secure, and communities build the confidence and resources for a better future.

Our Unique Approach

Everest Mera Foundation works closely with government schools in the Mahakulung region to help children, especially those facing difficult family and financial circumstances, stay in school and continue their education.

We provide essential support such as school fees, uniforms, books, stationery, and other basic learning needs. We also encourage students to attend school regularly, build confidence, think independently, understand their culture and history, and develop the knowledge and skills they need to create a better future.

We also work to strengthen the quality of education by supporting schools to recruit, develop, and train dedicated teachers. Beyond the classroom, our work includes environmental awareness, health and hygiene, emergency support, community resilience, and assistance for mountain families.

We partner with schools, local communities, local government, volunteers, and national and international organisations. By combining local knowledge with wider support, we aim to create practical, sustainable solutions that make a lasting difference in the lives of children and communities.
